Man Allegedly Commits Suicide, Blaming “Unsuccessful Bets” In A Note
After being reported missing since December 25th, a 27-year-old man named Meshack Keith Bwisa was discovered dead.
The deceased said that, after his relatives have gone home to look for him when they are preparing to celebrate the New Year Festival as a family, he was an employee of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)— the Registry department — in Kakamega.
After they knocked, the police were invited to find the door locked from the inside. On the floor, ash was found with the carbon monoxide poisoning which indicates that Bwisa died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
He made the following statement:
The body had swollen and decomposed. It is likely Bwisa died on the night of December 25, 2019.
There was a suicide note placed next to his body. In the letter, Bwisa blamed frustrations arising from unsuccessful bets as the reason for his suicidal ideation. In the note, he also advised the youth and his family members to refrain from betting, saying it ends up impoverishing people.
