FIFA Women’s World Cup: Nigeria lose 0-1 to France

The Nigeria’s Super Falcons hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 in the ongoing 2019 FIFA World Cup dimmed after they lost 0-1 to host country, France, in their last group match played on Monday.
Now it’s up to luck! If they eventually qualify, like the Flying Eagles in their last group stage, it would mean that Nigeria progressed as one of the third best losers.
After Ngozi Ebere was shown a red card, after a second yellow card, Wendie Renard netted in a penalty in the 79th minute.
Renard had earlier missed the first penalty, but the referee booked goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, for stepping her foot outside the line, and ordered that the penalty be re-taken. And she didn’t waste the second opportunity.
