Babatunde Gbadamosi Defects To Lagos PDP
The African Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in the 2019 governorship election in Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi, formally defected to the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday, March 16th, 2020.
The Lagos State Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Deji Doherty, who received Gbadamosi and his supporters at a ceremony in the party’s secretariat in Ikeja, said the defection was a signal of an early preparation for the 2023 governorship election in the state.
Doherty mad an allegation that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government was incurring huge debts for the state. He added that there was an urgent need to save the state from plunging into bankruptcy, therefore the need for a change of government in 2023.
I am shocked at the rate the APC-led government in Lagos State is incurring debt, something should be done to prevent the state from going bankrupt,
he said.
Doherty commended Gbadamosi and his supporters for their early return to the PDP, adding that it would give them enough time to work for the party’s success in 2023.
Gbadamosi commented that there was a problem in Lagos State that required collective efforts to solve.
