IPOB Faction Removes Nnamdi Kanu As Leader, Pro-Biafra Group’s Lawyers Dismiss Report As Fake News

IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu

Aloy Ejimakor and Ifeanyi Ejiofor, counsel for Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra have debunked reports of the latter’s removal as the group’s director.

Kanu has allegedly been removed as the Director of the organisation and replaced with Sofia Chinyere Kalu, the IPOB United Kingdom (UK) National Financial Secretary.

Ezeji Chukwuma, manager of IPOB and Radio Biafra Community Interest Companies (CIC) Registry in London, UK had also described Kalu as the new Director of IPOB Worldwide.

However, Simon Ekpa, a self-styled disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, who is based in Finland, queried those behind the removal of the IPOB leader, saying they would soon be exposed.

His tweet reads,

Who are those who removed Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from being the leader of Indigenous people of Biafra worldwide? In few minutes time the exposition of those behind the removal of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will begin, we will also address Umahi the former Governor of Ebonyi State. 8pm Biafra.

In a separate broadcast on YouTube, Ekpa displayed a memo purportedly from IPOB to its members in the United Kingdom endorsing the appointment of Kalu as the new director of the separatist group.

But speaking with SaharaReporters on Thursday, both Ejiofor and Ejimakor dismissed the alleged removal of Kanu as IPOB leader, describing it as false news and mere speculations.

Ejiofor, in his response to enquiries by Flavision, said,

Fake news, ignore,

while Ejomakor noted,

The report is untrue in its entirety. The organizational structure of IPOB as a legal entity in the UK remains as it was, with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as the Director, as well as the Leader of IPOB. Any report to the contrary is not credible and it should be seen as mere speculations of those that do not understand the complex corporate structure of IPOB and its ancillary entities.
