Reps Want Workers’ Casualisation Criminalised
A bill to ban and make casualization of workers illegal after six months of engagement by employers scaled second reading at the House of Representatives on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020. The bill also seeks to forbid employment outsourcing in central areas of operation.
The bill’s sponsor, Wale Raji (APC, Lagos), argued that casualisation of workers had left numerous workers unemployed.
In the case of corporate body, shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding N2m or 2 years sentence for each director of the company or both,
he said.
