Man Lynched By A Mob For Killing His Wife In Abia
A man named Kalu Ilum has been lynched and set ablaze by an angry mob in Etitiama Nkporo community in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State for allegedly killing his wife in cold blood.
We gathered that Ilum reportedly shot his wife in the mouth due to a quarrel they had at home, before she went to her shop.
According to a report reaching us, angry youths who went searching for the man, and located him hiding in an unused well.
They dragged him out, battered him to death and set his body aflame.
We also discovered that the mob caused damage to his house before pouncing on him.
One of their neighbours said:
The woman was not a violent woman. She owned a restaurant in the village.
We were told that she was sustaining her family with the proceeds of the business while the husband was not contributing anything.
Abia State Police spokesperson, Geoffrey Ogbonna, said he had not been informed about the matter.
