Delta Polytechnic Students Protest Over Ban On Driving In School Premises
Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro students, on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 protested over a ban on students driving their vehicles into the school premises and introduction of what they call “draconian” policies. The protest disrupted academic and other activities in the institution.
Organized by the Students Union Government leaders, the protesting students barricaded the the polytechnic’s main entrance, as well as the ever-busy Ughelli/Asaba Expressway, resultantly obstructing traffic flow.
The school’s Students Union Government (SUG) led by Gabriel Udemude, has demanded that the decision be urgently reversed by the school’s management.
Delta State Polytechnic’s Rector, Job Akpodiete, did not respond to phone calls and a text message.
