The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested and detained a 37-year-old woman identified as Hauwa Ali for allegedly marrying two men at the same time.

The woman was apprehended at her home in Kumbotso Local Government Area (L.G.A.) of the state, after her 45-year-old first husband, Bello Ibrahim, complained to the board.

While Ali claimed that her first husband and the father of her six (6) children divorced her before he was taken to his village for medical treatment due to critical illness. But Ibrahim denied ever divorcing her.

Ali, who will be arraigned before a court when the investigation is concluded, is currently married to 40-year-old Bala Abdulsalam, who reportedly paid a N20,000 dowry on her head. And she already has three (3) children with him.
