Woman Dies After Two-Month Dry Fasting In Delta
A yet-to-be identified woman in Sapele, Delta State, has reportedly died, after undertaking a two-month dry fasting.
Eyewitnesses told Flavision that the incident occurred along MTN Road, Okirigwhere in Sapele.
Our correspondent learnt that the woman, her husband, son, and a family friend locked themselves up inside their residence for two months to complete the 60-day dry fasting.
Our correspondent learnt that the family friend allegedly started the fasting which the family later joined.
It was disclosed that they drank only water when necessary during the spiritual exercise.
Reliable sources said that while the mother lost her life due to the fasting, her son became emaciated.
Meanwhile, the survivors of the fasting were said to have been taken to the hospital for proper medical attention, while the body of the deceased had been taken to the morgue.
The Delta State Police Command’s Public Relation Officer, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, could neither confirm nor deny the incident. She said no such report had been received by the police as the time of enquiry.
Onovwakpoyeya, however, assured that investigations would be intensified in that direction.
