Lebanese Who Advertised Nigerian Woman For Sale Arrested
The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, disclosed this on her official Twitter handle on Thursday, April, 23rd, 2020.
She noted that the suspect, who was arrested by the Lebanese government, would be arraigned before a court of law.
The Lebanese Government just announced the arrest of Mr. Wael Jerro for onward prosecution against criminal sales of a human, a young Nigerian girl,
she wrote.
Jerro had advertised the victim, Busari Peace, alongside her Nigerian International Passport on a Facebook page, “Buy and Sell in Lebanon.”
He put $1,000 price tag on the 30-year-old indigene of Ibadan in Oyo State.
The incident generated revulsion and outright outrage on social media, with numerous Nigerians calling for the rescue of Busari and arrest of the suspect.
