The Senate Committee on Judiciary Chairman, Human Rights and Legal Matters, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, has congratulated Chief Afe Babalola on his 90th birthday.

In a signed statement made copied to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Bamidele, on Monday in Abuja, enthusiastically praised the virtues of the founder of Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) in Ado-Ekiti.

He described the senior citizen as an embodiment of remarkable legacies in the legal profession, Ekiti and humanity as a whole.

Bamidele, who represents Ekiti Central at the Senate, said Babalola, even at 90, has always been giving back to the society via uplifting the poor and purposeful leadership.

The senator also remarked that Afe Babalola University is a world-class university, and one of Babalola’s enduring legacies, which he would long be remembered for.

He also remarked that Babalola’s rise from a humble background to national prominence was due to dedication, hardwork and God’s grace.
