Suspected Serial Killer, Gracious David West, Appears In Court Wearing Church Tag
A suspected serial killer, Gracious David West, appeared in court for a hearing, while ironically wearing a Salvation Ministries’ “5 nights of glory” tag.
However, his trial was stalled because his counsel, Vincent Chuku, was absent. The lawyer was supposed to continue cross-examining prosecution witnesses.
The state’s prosecution counsels, Lezina Amegwa and Chidi Ekeh, counsel to the 2nd defendant Nimi ThankGod, told the court that they have made unsuccessful efforts to reach Chuku.
Justice Adolphus Enebeli ordered that Vincent Chuku be served the hearing before the next adjourned date. He stated that Chuku cannot withdraw from the case on his own, because there’s a precedence.
The justice then adjourned the case until January 24, 2020.
West earlier confessed to murdering fifteen (15) women across seven (7) states. As the case progressed, he made a u-turn and pleaded not guilty to the ten-counts of murder levelled against him.
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer said the suspect murdered one person each in Abia, Imo, Edo, Oyo and Lagos where the serial killing started two months ago and nine (9) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
West, who claimed to be a repentant cultist, told correspondents that he derived joy in strangling young ladies in hotel rooms whenever the urge to kill overwhelmed him. He also claimed that he had never cut his off his victim’s vital organs.
He ran out of luck after a CCTV of him in a hotel emerged and went viral on popular social media circles. He was arrested while trying to escape the intense heat his actions had generated.
