The police in Ekiti State on Friday, March 13th, 2020 charged a 22-year-old man identified as Sunday Ogaji, to court for allegedly having sex with a she-goat.

The defendant is on trial on one-count charge of “unnatural offence” at a magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti.

The police prosecuting counsel, Sgt. Olubu Apata, told the court that:

the defendant committed the offence on March 4 around 2.30pm at Basiri area in Ado-Ekiti.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and the defense counsel, Mr. Timi Omotosho, prayed the court to grant his client bail in liberal conditions.

The presiding magistrate, Kehinde Awosika, granted the defendant bail in the sum of fifty thousand Naira (N50,000) with one surety in like sum.

He said,

The offence contravened the provisions of Section 214(2) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

The prosecutor requested the court to adjourn the case, to enable him present his witnesses.

The magistrate adjourned the case until March 31st, 2020 for hearing.
