Ambulance Conveying Catholic Priest’s Mother’s Corpse Gutted By Fire
An ambulance carrying the corpse of the mother of Rev. Fr. Alex Onyemata, a Catholic priest in Okigwe Catholic Diocese, was gutted by fire over the weekend.
The fire outbreak was caused by fuel leakage while the vehicle was heading to Mercy Mortuary in Umulogho community of Obowo, Imo State. Eyewitnesses told Flavision that the corpse was hurriedly removed from the burning ambulance by family members and other mourners.
The fire incident happened on Saturday January 11th, 2020 at Owerri-Umuahia expressway. Subsequently, the corpse was carried in a stretcher to the morgue by the mourners, who were forced to trek.
