The Nation reports that a furious husband has allegedly slaughtered his mother-in-law in Arubayi Street of Warri, Delta state. Their identities are still unknown.

The incident happened just a few hours after the the turn of 2020 New Year. Flavision gathered that the butcher drank poison, after committing the nefarious act and died as a result.

The Nation gathered from a witness that the murderer went to the victim’s house, holding a cutlass, with a motive to cause harm her daughter, his estranged wife. But the estranged wife fled immediately after sighting the husband.

We gathered that the couple whose marriage was blessed by the dead woman, had separated. But the man didn’t want to let the estranged wife go, and so, decided to attack her.

The couple have two children together.

A Keke Napep rider who witnessed part of the incident narrated thus:

She ran away. But her mother could not run because she had pains on one of her legs. This man faced the poor woman and cut her severally until she died.

The neighbours all ran away. They said they were afraid. But the man later took poison and died this morning near Island Clinic. He wore a green native and canvass. But the body has been removed.

We contacted the police spokesperson at the ‘B’ Division of the Warri Area Command, who confirmed the ugly incident. He also disclosed to Flavision that both corpses were deposited at the Central Hospital morgue in Warri.

The incident was confirmed by the Delta State Police Command.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeyinka Adeleke, said

yes, it is true. The Man has also killed himself.
