Coronavirus: Lagos Discharges Five More Patients
The Lagos State Government said it has discharged five patients who had been undergoing treatment for coronavirus disease at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
The COVID-19 survivors are one female and four males, making the total number of survivors of the deadly virus from the hospital to eight.
The survivors were isolated and treated at the hospital for two weeks, after they tested positive for COVID-19.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, disclosed this via his Twitter handle on Monday, March 30th, 2020.
He tweeted,
I am excited to announce some positive news ahead of our lockdown.
We have just discharged five formerly positive #COVID19 patients from our Infectious Disease Hospital after treatment and multiple testing by our specialists. Congratulations to the healthcare team and the patients.
Sanwo-Olu reassured the people residing in the state that the government was doing everything within its powers to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Five of our citizens in the isolation centre who regained full recovery is another pointer to us that with a concerted effort, we can defeat the coronavirus in Lagos and Nigeria,
he added.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, sixty eight (68) coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Lagos State, since the outbreak of the disease hit the country.
