Buhari Orders Two-Week Total Lockdown In Kano
President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered that Kano State be placed under a total lockdown for a period of two weeks with immediate effect.
Recall that Flavision reported that the former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has wrote President Buhari to allege that COVID-19 is responsible for the deaths of numerous senior citizens in Kano State.
Buhari gave this order in a nationwide live broadcast on Monday, April 27th, 2020.
He clarified that the revised COVID-19 guidelines which he released during the live broadcast will not be applicable to Kano State, which has witnessed unprecedented number of “mysterious” deaths lately.
Buhari said,
With regards to Kano, I have directed the enforcement of a total lockdown for a period of two weeks effective immediately.
The Federal Government shall deploy all the necessary human, material and technical resources to support the state in controlling and containing the pandemic and preventing the risk of further spread to neighbouring states.
