Coronavirus: NCDC Confirms 284 New Cases In Nigeria; 199 In Lagos, 26 In Rivers, 19 In Oyo, Others
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said it has confirmed two hundred and eighty four (284) new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria.
Of the newly-confirmed coronavirus cases in the country, 199 were recorded in Lagos, 26 in Rivers, 19 in Oyo, 8 in the FCT, 8 in Borno, 7 in Plateau, 6 in Jigawa, 5 in Kano, 2 in Abia, 1 in Ekiti, 1 in Delta1 in Kwara and 1 in Taraba.
Error Correction by NCDC:
On Monday, May 18th, 2020, 8 new cases in Zamfara were erroneously announced by the NCDC.
Therefore, as of May 20th, 2020, Zamfara has recorded a total of 76 confirmed cases of the deadly virus.
The NCDC has apologised to Zamfara State Government for this error and reiterated its commitment to accurate and transparent reporting of data.
As of Wednesday, May 20th, 2020, there are 6677 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria. 1840 patients have been discharged, with 200 deaths.
