Coronavirus: Nigeria Records Five New Confirmed Cases
The Federal Ministry of Health has on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 announced five new confirmed cases of coronavirus bringing the total number of cases in Nigeria to eight.
Punch reports that all the five new cases had previously travelled to the United States and the United Kingdom.
Two of the new cases flew into the country from the UK, while the other three arrived from the United States.
Four of the patients were Nigerian citizens, including a six-week-old baby, while the fifth case is a foreigner who entered into the country through a land border.
This fifth patient is the first confirmed case of the infection via Nigeria’s land borders.
Of the five new cases, four are in Lagos State, while one is in Ekiti State.
