Unizik Suspends Chinese Course, Lecturers Amid Coronavirus Fears
Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, has suspended a Chinese course in the tertiary institution amid fears of a probable spread of the deadly Coronavirus disease.
The institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esomone, revealed this during a pre-convocation press conference on Monday, March 9th, 2020.
He said the school had also urged its Chinese lecturers, who had gone to their home country for Christmas vacation not to return to the institution, while those who were in Nigeria had been barred from travelling.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the institution had resorted to running the Chinese course under Confucius Institute online.
