Coronavirus: NCDC Confirms 260 New Cases In Nigeria; 67 In Abia40 In FCT, 38 In Lagos, Others
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said it has confirmed two hundred and sixty (260) new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria.
Of the newly-confirmed 260 coronavirus cases in the country, 67 were reported in Abia, 40 in the FCT, 38 in Lagos, 19 in Ogun, 16 in Gombe, 14 in Edo, 9 in Imo, 8 in Kwara, 8 Katsina, 8 in Nasarawa, 8 in Borno, 6 in Kaduna,5 in Bauchi, 4 in Ekiti, 2 in Niger, 2 in Ondo, 2 in Plateau, 2 in Kano and 2 in Sokoto.
As of Sunday, June 7th, 2020, there are 12,486 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria.
3,959 patients have been discharged, with 354 fatalities.
The NCDC said that on Saturday, June 5th, 2020, the centre erroneously reported 7 new cases in Jigawa. Following further review, it has confirmed that those were repeat tests for previously confirmed cases. It apologised for this error and pledged to remain committed to ensuring transparent and accurate reporting of test results.
