3 Suspected Coronavirus Patients Discharged In Lagos
Nigeria currently has only one confirmed case of coronavirus disease. The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, announced on Friday, March 6th, 2020 that the three suspects quarantined in Lagos have tested negative to the coronavirus disease. One of the quarantined persons was a Nigerian who travelled to France eight (8) days ago and returned to the country four (4) days ago. He complained of headache and respiratory problems, and that led to his isolation.
Two other travelers from England and China were also quarantined, after they developed certain suspicious symptoms. According to the commissioner, samples were collected from them for tests to determine if they had contracted Coronavirus. However, Abayomi tweeted that the three suspects had tested negative of the deadly disease and hence have been discharged after doctors certified them free of the virus.
