Suspected Fasoranti Daughter’s Killer Attempts To Flee Isolation Centre
More officers of the Nigerian Army and the Ondo State Police Command have been deployed in the Infectious Disease Hospital, Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Flavision learnt that this became necessary, to ensure that one of the suspected killers of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of the leader of the Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, did not escape from the hospital.
The suspected killer, identified as Adamu Adamu, who was apprehended and arraigned before a magistrates’ court in Akure, over the death of Olakunrin, tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and had been quarantined treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Akure.
Our correspondent learnt that the suspect had made multiple attempts to escape from the hospital, but the security agents at the hospital had been foiling those attempts. As a result, there was a deployment of more security officers in the health facility.
The source said,
The man (accused person) has made several attempts by deploying various tactics to escape from the hospital. It was the timely intervention of the police that prevented his latest attempt to flee the custody.
Whenever Adamu goes to the toilet he spends long hours in the toilet.
The source further said that the little free movement the suspect was enjoying inside the ward where COVID-19 patients were receiving treatment, had been stopped He added that he had been chained to his bed and closely monitored to the toilet by the security agents.
The Ondo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed that security has been ramped up at the isolation hospital, to ensure that the accused did not flee.
