Imo Enforces Compulsory Wearing Of Face Mask
Imo State Government has commenced the enforcement of compulsory use of face masks by members of the public in the state, in an effort to curb coronavirus contagion.
Already, the government had procured over 5,000 pieces of the material for free distribution to members of the public.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Safety, Prince Ugochukwu Nzekwe, disclosed this on Thursday.
Nzekwe enjoined members of the public, who were nonchalant to the use face masks, to always adhere strictly to established COVID-19 protocols in their own interest, stating that Governor Hope Uzodinma had put in place necessary the mechanism to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
He warned that henceforth, non-compliance with established COVID-19 protocols would be viewed seriously by the state government.
