Coronavirus: Ondo State Records First Case Of The Deadly Disease
The Ondo State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, disclosed that the state has recorded its first case of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
He said this via his official Twitter handle, @RotimiAkeredolu, on Friday, April 3rd, 2020.
Flavision learnt that the patient is among those already in the state’s isolation center.
He said,
We have just received confirmation of our first positive COVID-19 case this evening. The infected person is currently under isolation and would be monitored.
We have activated all necessary protocol to locate all contacts and we’ve been working closely with NCDC.
Similarly, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Donald Ojogo, issued a statement that confirmed the development in Akure, the state capital, on Friday, April 3rd.
The statement read in part,
It is with great concern that the Ondo State Government announces the index case. A suspected case tested positive to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have just received confirmation of our first positive #COVIDー19 case in Ondo State this evening. The infected person is currently under isolation and will be monitored. We have activated all necessary protocol to locate all contacts and will be working closely with @NCDCgov.
