The Nigerian woman who was advertised on Facebook for sale by a Lebanese man identified as Wael Jerro, has been rescued.

The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Tuesday, April 28th, 2020 disclosed that the victim, Busari Peace, was with the Nigerian Mission in Beirut, Lebanon.

Jerro had advertised Busari with her Nigerian International passport on a Facebook page, “Buy and Sell in Lebanon”.

He placed a price tag of $1,000 on the 30-year-old indigene of Ibadan in Oyo State.

The post generated outrage on the social media, resulting to several Nigerians calling for the apprehension of the suspect and rescue of the victim.

Dabiri-Erewa later announced the arrest of the suspect by the Lebanese government, whom according to he, also condemned the act.

She had then assured that the victim would be rescued.

In a tweet on Tuesday, April 28th, 2020, accompanied by a video clip, the former house of representatives member said Busari had been rescued.
