Gunmen Kill Three Siblings, Two Women In Plateau
Gunmen, suspected to be herdmen, have killed five people in two separate attacks, on Tuesday, March 24th, 2020, in Kwal district, Bassa Local Government Area (L.G.A.)of Plateau State.
Flavision gathered that the incidents happened in Kperie and Gbra Zongo communities of the local government area.
Our correspondents also learnt that the gangsters killed three children from the same family in Gbra Zongo before heading to the neighbouring Kperie to kill two women.
The murdered children’s uncle, who identified himself as Danjuma Anthony, confirmed the incident in Gbra Zongo to Flavision.
According to him, the names of the slain children are Rachel aged six, Jacob aged three and Charity aged one.
Anthony said,
The family is in pain because those killed during the attack in Gbra Zongo were the children of my younger brother.
The children were sleeping in their home when around 9.45pm the gunmen, who were about three, came and killed them.
The father was not at home because he had gone on security patrol of the community while the wife, who was at home, was sleeping in another room.
The unprovoked attack and killing of innocent children only shows the level of insecurity our people are facing in the community. It’s really unfortunate.
A youth leader in Kperie, Mr. Rogo Friday, confirmed the killings of the two women in the town.
Friday said,
The women were not from the community. They came to sympathise with a family in the community and that is how they met their death.
Others who sustained injuries during the attack have been taken to hospital.
The Plateau State Command’s Spokesman, ASP Ubah Ogaba, is yet to comment on the killings.
