Ondo Policeman Kills Wife, Self Over Alleged Infidelity
A policeman named Tolulope, who was attached to the Ondo State Police Command, had allegedly gunned down his wife dead and later also shot himself dead.
The incident happened in the evening on Tuesday, March 10th, 2020, in Akungba-Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government Area (L.G.A.) of Ondo State.
A police source told Flavision that the deceased officer was attached to the Akungba Police Division and that he committed the crime after returning home from work.
Another source gave more details that there had been frequent quarrels over faithfulness between Tolulope and his wife. He said the deceased policeman always accused his wife of answering too many phone calls and messages from various men.
The source said,
The man (deceased) did not trust his wife as they always fought on the matter that his wife received calls from different men. This might be the reason he took the life of the woman and himself.
Now that they are dead, they left a three weeks old baby and a two years old child.
The Ondo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tee-Leo Ikoro, while confirming the incident, described the incident as unfortunate and sad, adding that investigation into the matter had commenced to unravel the actual cause of the shootings.
The PPRO stated,
The couple were the only one at home when the incident happened, so no one can actually pinpoint that it was a case of murder and suicide.
