Nigerian Military: We’ve Arrested Terrorists Behind Owo Church Attack
The Nigerian Defence Headquarters says it has arrested the terrorists who killed worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State.
On June 5, now tagged by many as Black Sunday, gunmen attacked the church in Owo, killing about 40 congregants and injuring many others.
The gunmen were said to be heavily armed as they attacked the helpless congregation.
Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior had said the attack was orchestrated by Islamic State West in African Province (ISWAP).
Speaking on Tuesday, Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, said the criminals were arrested in collaboration with other security agencies.
