Man Arraigned For Pouring Hot Water Laced With Pepper On Wife
A 27-year-old man, Adeniyi Akinde, on Thursday, May 7th, 2020 was arraigned before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife for allegedly pouring hot water laced with pepper on his wife, Deborah.
The incident occurred in Oke-Owu area of Modakeke and left the victim with severe bodily injuries.
The police prosecutor, Glory Ona, said the defendant committed the offence on April 14, 2020, around 12.30 am in Modakeke.
he stated that the offence contravenes Section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the one count levelled against him.
Magistrate Joseph Owolawi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned further hearing in the case until June 4th, 2020.
