Son Arraigned For Threatening To Kill Father In Osun
A 38-year-old man, Adelekan Aderemi, on Thursday, June 4th, 2020 was arraigned before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife, for threatening to kill his father, Adewale Aderemi.
The defendant was accused of threatening to kill his father with a piece of broken bottle following a disagreement.
The police prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, explained that Adelekan committed the offence on June 1st, 2020, on Iremo Road, Ile-Ife.
He alleged that Adelekan conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the public peace.
According to him, the defendant dragged the gate of the house with the security man and threatened to kill his father with a piece of broken bottle.
The offence was said to contravene Section 249(D) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
Adelekan pleaded not guilty to the one count.
His counsel, Martin Awe, urged the court to admit his client to bail and gave an assurance of his readiness to provide reliable sureties.
In his ruling, Magistrate Joseph Owolawi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the matter till June 25, 2020, for hearing.
