Sokoto Discharges 22 Coronavirus Patients
Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has disclosed that 22 coronavirus (COVID-19) patients have been discharged in the state.
All the discharged patients underwent treatment, full recovery and consecutively testing negative twice for the deadly virus.
This was according to the Sokoto State Commissioner for Health and Chairman of the Sokoto State Task Force on COVID-19, Muhammad Inname.
He said,
This brings to 41 the total number of COVID-19 patients, out of 176 cases, so far discharged by the Task Force.
Describing the current discharges as
the highest so far achieved by the state,
he reiterated that
being COVID-19 isn’t a death sentence in any way.
The government admonished everyone in the state to avoid any form of stigmatization against COVID-19 victims.
This development shows that many of those infected by the disease do recover and go about their normal activities.
Contact tracing is ongoing. We have identified 844 contacts, tested 436 suspected cases and certified that 176 cases are positive,
the commissioner explained.
