Scores Injured, Buildings Collapsed In Explosion That Rocked Lagos
Several people were reportedly injured following an oil pipeline explosion that occurred on Sunday, March 15th, 2020 in Abule Ado, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area (L.G.A.) of Lagos State.
Residents of the area were panicky, following the explosion.
Our reporters learnt that the impact of the explosion damaged several nearby buildings.
A resident named Aliu Jimoh told Flavision that two fire service trucks had arrived the scene of the incident, and they were struggling to quench the fire outbreak. He added that several people were injured by the explosion.
He said,
There is a problem in Abule Ado right now, a pipeline has exploded and many buildings have collapsed, including a school. We don’t know if people are in the building or not.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Authority’s Public Relations Officer, Nosa Okunbor, said,
A team is heading to Abule Ado, trade fair axis for investigation of the alleged pipeline explosion. 9We are awaiting details and preliminary reports. Please avoid speculations.
