Mikel Obi: I Hope Osimhen Moves To EPL

Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has stated that he would like to see Victor Osimhen, a striker for the Super Eagles, move to the English Premier League.

In response to rumors that Manchester United will want to sign Osimhen, Mikel said the Red Devils would not be a viable destination if they are unable to earn a spot in the European tournament.

In a beIN SPORTS chat on Soccer Sunday Live, Osimhen’s former international teammate responded, “If that’s the case, then he doesn’t go to United,” when asked if a club that isn’t competing in Europe next season may prevent them from signing the player.

Osimhen wants to play for Chelsea, but Mikel said he is unable to foresee where he would end up.

When questioned further, he added, “I don’t know; we wait and see,” after saying, “I hope somewhere in the Premier League.”

“I know where we are and where we (Chelsea) stopped in terms of the contract,” Mikel stated.

It’s a simple solution. Last summer, we put forth a lot of effort. It’s very simple to take it up.

Osimhen, who is now on loan from Napoli to Galatasaray, the Turkish champions, has been in incredible form for Galatasaray this season, tallying 21 goals and dishing out four assists in just 25 league games.
